Sciences Po Strasbourg has developed combined master’s degree programmes with five partner universities including Glendon College (Toronto), Charles University (Prague) and European University Viadrina (Germany).

These combined degrees allow students to benefit from different academic approaches, gain multi-cultural experience and develop their language skills.

Combined Master of European Studies (France and Germany) in conjunction with Viadrina University in Frankfurt an der Oder

This two-year programme combines the study of public affairs, European cooperation and international security. The programme offers its graduates particularly attractive career opportunities in a wide range of sectors: European civil servants; public affairs advisors for consultancy groups, NGOs, companies and administrations; parliamentary assistants; defence consultants; professionals in the field of international security for international or European organisations, governments and NGOs, and roles in Franco-German or Franco-Polish economic, diplomatic, scientific and cultural cooperation.

Students spend the first year (Master 1) at the European University Viadrina and the second year (Master 2) at Sciences Po Strasbourg in one of the three Master’s in the field of European and International Studies.

Take a global approach to studying the world! By their complexity and impact, as well as their power to send shock waves, international relations permeate our daily lives, shape our perception of the world and influence our actions as citizens. When you choose to study ERIG (Étude des Relations Internationales et
du Global [International and Global Relations]) at Sciences Po Strasbourg, you are in for a demanding, multi-disciplinary course that will prepare you for the world of work. This two-year programme of excellence, taught mainly in French and English, aims to meet one of the 21st century’s major challenges in higher education: to train high-potential, international managers and researchers who are both painstaking and bold, multi-lingual and mobile, and able to take a holistic view of the world in all its complexity.


The “Combined Master of European International Studies” is organised in partnership between Sciences Po Strasbourg and UCLouvain. Each year, five students are selected from Belgium and from France to participate in this programme. The course is organised over two years. During the first year at Louvain-la-Neuve students follow the UCLouvain' European Studies course. During the second year in Strasbourg, students follow one of the four Master’s courses in International Relations: Défense, renseignement et sécurité internationale ; Développement et coopération internationale ; Diplomatie territoriale ; Négociations et expertises internationales. The two partner universities jointly award the Master of European Studies and Master of International Relations.

 

Admissions on the basis of an application (five candidates will be selected by Sciences Po Strasbourg).
Applicants must have a licence or equivalent 3-year degree (180 ECTS) and a good level of English (certification of B2 or equivalent).

Combined Master of Public Affairs and International Relations in conjunction with Glendon College - Toronto

The “Combined Master of Public Affairs and International Relations” is organised in partnership between Sciences Po Strasbourg and the Glendon School of Public and International Affairs (York University) in Toronto. Every year, five students are selected by each of the two partners to participate in this excellent, selective and bilingual (French-English) programme.

Students gain access to international careers, particularly in the field of geopolitical analysis, in the French, European and international civil service, in non-profit organisations and private companies in defence, humanitarian and security sectors.

The programme is bilingual (French-English) and takes two years to complete. The first year (M1) in Toronto gives students the opportunity to take core courses that enable them to master the fundamentals of public action as well as elective courses to focus on areas of particular interest in the field of international relations. The second year (M2) in Strasbourg allows them to choose one of four specialisation pathways (NEI, DCI, DT ou DRSI) following on from the courses taken in Canada.

Admissions by application (five candidates will be selected by Sciences Po Strasbourg).
Applicants must hold a licence or equivalent 3-year degree (180 ECTS) before applying for the course.

Combined Master of European Studies (France and Poland) in conjunction with Jagiellonian University - Krakow

This combined master’s is accessible to applicants who hold a 3-year university degree. The first year of the Master’s degree will take place at the partner university. At the Jagiellonian University in Krakow courses are conducted entirely in English at the Institute of European Studies. The courses taught during the winter (October-February) and summer (February-June) semesters are based around five compulsory modules: EU Administration, Justice & Home Affairs; Theory and Practice of European Integration; Democracy, Identity & Civil Society in Central and Eastern Europe; European Civilisation and a Research Seminar.
The specialisation courses are either on European economic and political integration or the European Union’s external policy. Polish language courses are also offered.
The second year of the Master’s takes place at Sciences Po Strasbourg in one of three specialisation pathways in the field.

Combined Master of Corporate Strategy and Finance in Europe in conjunction with Charles University in Prague

This study programme provides graduates with knowledge of economic theories and concepts, combined with a mastery of financial tools. The first year of the course, S1 and S2, takes place at the Institute of Economic Studies at Charles University in Prague. The second year of the course, S3 (lessons) and S4 (work experience), takes place at Sciences Po Strasbourg within the Corporate Strategy and Finance in Europe course. All lessons are taught in English. To be eligible for the combined master's programme, students in the Economics and Finance programme must have a licence or equivalent 3-year degree worth 180 ECTS credits.

Présentation du cursus

Ce double-diplôme permet à deux étudiants de la filière Etude des relations internationales et du global (ERIG) de réaliser leur 5ème année au Japon au sein de l’Université d’Hitotsubashi.

Les personnes sélectionnées seront intégrées au programme d’excellence « Gouvernance globale » de l’École de politiques publiques et internationales » de l’université partenaire.

Sélection

Les candidatures au programme de double diplôme entre les deux parties seront ouvertes à compter de la mi-avril. La date limite de dépôt des candidatures est fixée au début du mois de mai. Un comité de sélection conjoint examinera les candidatures au plus tard à la mi-mai, avant de les approuver définitivement. L'université d'accueil prendra une décision finale sur l'acceptation des étudiants d'échange avant le 20 mai.

Il est recommandé que les étudiants fassent preuve d'une bonne maîtrise de l'anglais, avec un score minimum de 100 au TOEFL iBT ou son équivalent. Toutefois, lorsque le niveau de japonais est approprié, les étudiants peuvent également suivre des cours en japonais, avec l'accord de l'enseignant.

Les dossiers de candidature seront constitués d’un CV et d’une lettre de motivation en anglais.

Votre 5ème année au Japon

L'objectif du programme de gouvernance mondiale est d'encourager les personnes talentueuses ayant des connaissances spécialisées dans des domaines tels que les relations internationales, l'histoire des relations internationales et le droit international, et de former des personnes qui joueront un rôle actif au sein du gouvernement, des organisations internationales et des ONG, sur la base d'un programme d'enseignement axé sur les relations internationales.

Le programme de gouvernance mondiale vise à former de véritables experts capables de jouer un rôle actif dans ce monde en mutation. Les cours enseignés sont en anglais et sont divisés en quatre catégories :

  • les cours de base (Basic Courses)
  • les  cours obligatoires (Core Courses)
  •  les cours appliqués (Applied Courses)
  • les études de cas/ateliers (Case Studies/Workshops)

L'année académique à l'Université de Hitotsubashi est composée de deux semestres universitaires. Le premier semestre (automne-hiver) commence début septembre, tandis que le deuxième semestre (printemps-été) commence en mars pour se terminer début septembre.

Pour remplir les conditions d'obtention du diplôme à l'IPP, les étudiants participants doivent obtenir un total de 44 crédits (dont 30 via les enseignements optionnels) et produire un mémoire de recherche de 80 à 100 pages.
