Welcoming international students

At Sciences Po Strasbourg, exchange students receive attentive support before they arrive and throughout their stay from dedicated, experienced and caring administrative staff.

In addition, the International Students' Office (BEI, Bureau des Étudiants Internationaux) relies on two student mentors in their fourth year, who spent time abroad the previous year, to run international student life.

Throughout the year, the BEI organizes a variety of activities (tours, outings, games, parties, etc.) to encourage encounters between international and local students, help them settle in and enable them to quickly become familiar with the academic system. It also helps students discover Strasbourg and its surrounding region, while providing a link to the many student associations at Sciences Po Strasbourg, so that everyone can get involved and thrive.

Finding accommodation in Strasbourg

Each year, Sciences Po Strasbourg has around fifty rooms in university halls of residence (CROUS) reserved for its exchange students.

The allocation campaign takes place in June (for students planning to study in Semester 1 or for the full academic year) or in November (for students planning to study in Semester 2). The links to apply for accommodation in a CROUS university residence are sent to students who request them AND whose application is complete.

Please note: given the number of rooms available to us, we can only house some of our visiting students in university residences. We therefore encourage those who are able or wish to do so to look for alternative accommodation.

Booking a room in a university residence means that the student commits to occupying it and paying the rent for the ENTIRE rental period, namely:

  • from 1 September to 31 December for Semester 1
  • from 1 January to 31 May for Semester 2
  • from 1 September to 31 May for the full academic year

Early departures are not permitted.

Be careful !

Rental scams are common. Do not pay any money until you have viewed the accommodation or signed a rental contract.
Some landlords ask for a cheque or bank transfer to reserve the accommodation. This practice is illegal in France.
