The International Relations department’s task is to extend Sciences Po Strasbourg’s international outreach. It has set up numerous partnership agreements with universities across the world (we have about 100 partner universities to date) in order to support the international mobility of both students and academic staff.

Each year we welcome around 200 students from all over the world who come to study at Sciences Po Strasbourg either as part of an exchange programme or by joining one of our degree courses. Since the start of the 2011-2012 academic year, a new degree has been introduced for foreign students: the DIEE (Diplôme interdisciplinaire d’études de Sciences Po Strasbourg).

Alongside the IR department, there are other contact points for students, such as the Bureau d’accueil des étudiants internationaux (International Students Office).

Both Sciences Po and the University of Strasbourg have a number of agreements with universities abroad:

More than 50% of our students go abroad each year under the European exchange programme Erasmus.

The remaining 50% go abroad in the framework of:

  • bilateral partnership agreements signed by the University of Strasbourg,
  • the agreement signed by the Conférence des recteurs et des principaux des universités du Québec with 87 French universities or grandes écoles (CREPUQ),
  • the Utrecht network (27 universities, including the University of Strasbourg, in 21 European countries) which is also linked to a network of 12 American universities (the Mid America International University - MAIU) and to a network of Australian universities (the Australian Europe Network - AEN),
  • individual projects, to other destinations.
